Market Day ticket sellers, just turn up at the cream show society booth at the Albany Street market en-trance and your stall will be set up for you. Two or three families can sell a huge lot of tickets on Market Days at the Berry Country Fair. 791 tickets in a day is the current record!!
Pre-show Raffle Ticket Sales – Berry Pharmacy
Raffle Ticket sales are one of the biggest contributors to the success of our quilt show. One or two adults and two or three students in uniform can sell a lot of tickets on a Saturday morning outside the Berry Pharmacy. All you have to do is turn up at the Pharmacy, go to the script counter and collect the chair, table and props. Tickets and how to set up instructions are provided. Families who would prefer to do a Sun-day shift instead, just let us know the date and time and we will slot you in.
Quilt Show Set Up Thursday 4th May and Friday 5th May
Quilt Show set up is one day after school goes back for Term 2!! It is a busy and fun two days at the School of Arts. No time to be bored! We need a handful of Dads to bring equipment down from school, set up our quilt stands and do some heavy lifting jobs and ladder climbing. Set up crew Dads from last year – you were WONDERFUL! Please sign up again!. We also need a handful of parents to, receive quilts, hang quilts, set up furniture and generally get things organised.
Security Sleepover
We need to make sure that the quilts are safe overnight. A family having a fun sleep over makes sure we have eyes & ears onsite all night. You need to bring, sleeping bags, lilos, entertainment and your food. Quilt show committee will be back in the hall at 8am so you can race home for a shower.
Opening Night 7pm-10pm Friday 4th May
Opening night is a big fun event! It has been described as the social event of the season! So buy a ticket and come along and enjoy or sign up to help make it happen. Admissions Volunteers check tickets and sell tickets at the door then go on to help with food service. Raffle Ticket sellers man the raffle sales desk and sell sell sell! Welcome Drinks people pop champagne corks and pour as fast as they can as guests arrive and continue to serve drinks & softies for much of the evening. Food service volunteers ferry platters of canapés from kitchen to guests. Kitchen Volunteers assist with plating up food, running the dishwasher and cleaning up. White gloves volunteers are eagle eyed quilt security and also prevent people from touching quilts.
WE ASK THAT ALL OPENING NIGHT VOLUNTEERS WEAR BLACK AND HAVE LONG HAIR TIED BACK.
Quilt Show Weekend Sat 5th May and Sun 6th May
To open up, we need people to man the show all weekend. Admissions is a desk job at front of house selling entry tickets and taking post-code data. Raffle Ticket Sales is also a desk job in the entry foyer, selling as many tickets as you can. The school stall is our very own market stall with donated items to sell. It is a good opportunity for students and parents to work a shift together. The café takes a good few volunteers to run. Adults are required for hot food and money tasks and responsible students can help with plate clearing and serving. White Gloves people are eagle eyed quilt security and also prevent people from touching quilts or taking food near displays.
Pull Down & Clean Up
Pull down happens very fast compared to set up. On Sunday night, we need Dads again to move display furniture and manage lifting & ladders. We also need volunteers to return quilts and pack away equip-ment. On Monday there’s the last of the equipment to return to school, tidying and vacuuming to be done.
